Alexander Girard "January"
One of three textile prints in our collaboration with the estate of renowned architect and designer Alexander Girard, January (1963) embodies Girard’s playful illustrative style and his influence on the groovy aesthetics of the 1960’s. This print was originally developed by Girard during his tenure as the Head of Fabric and Textile Division at Herman Miller and has been displayed in various color schemes since its debut.
To continue Girard’s emphasis of quality craftsmanship, we had January meticulously reengineered by one of our Italian partner mills on a summer-weight 100% cotton poplin. Each color was matched to their original pantones and extra care was taken to ensure pigments hold fast and resist bleeding.
