Popover shirts trace back to early military and workwear uniforms, where a shortened placket offered durability and ease of wear. Over time, that function-first detail was adopted into mid-century leisurewear, evolving into a cleaner, more considered silhouette.

This style builds on that heritage with our lightweight Spring Oxford cloth. Unlike our Portuguese-woven Spring Oxford, this fabric was woven by our partner mill in Japan using traditional dyes and vintage looms.

    Characteristics:

    The younger brother of our Cambridge Oxford cloth, our Spring Oxford Cloth is offered as a lighter, finer, and more vibrant alternative. The 60’s singles yarns used in this fabric create a gentle hand that feels more at home when temperatures rise. Lighter yarns also allow for an immediate break-in, meaning our washing process is all it takes for these shirts to feel incredibly soft and comfortable. Rounding things out are vivid colors that echo the lighthearted optimism of Spring.

    We have worked with our Spring Oxford fabric since 2020.

To measure the neck, first open the collar and lay it flat. Our measurement is taken from the center of the collar button to its corresponding buttonhole.
