Although the checked design of this fabric was inspired by a vintage dishtowel, the weave structure and weight have been updated for use in warm-weather shirting. Woven with a simple basket weave to maintain the appearance of a dishtowel, our Japanese partner mill opted for some lightweight alterations. First, small gauge yarns were used to keep weight down overall. Additionally, these yarns are woven with slightly open weave, allowing air to pass through the fabric.
