All of our dobby-weave fabrics are woven at our Japanese partner mill on heritage dobby looms. These looms have the unique capability to change the weave of the fabric on the fly, allowing one fabric to feature multiple weave structures. This fabric features herringbone twill, breathable open weaves, tightly woven plain weaves, and "floating" stitches. Although dobby fabrics are typically prized for their incredible texture and complexity, this fabric leverages its weave for function. The open and floating parts of the fabric allow for increased breathability, making this already-lightweight style even better for the warmer months.
