Product Type Sweater

Our Alpaca knit fabric starts in the Peruvian highlands at 12,000 feet of elevation where small-scale and indigenous-owned alpaca herds roam freely through the mountains. Grazing on their natural diet of highland grasses, these alpacas produce healthy, thick coats with wool fibers up to six inches long. As summer approaches, the shepherds shear their alpaca and send the wool to our partner mill in Arequipa, Peru. There, the mill spins the fibers into yarns, adding a small amount of nylon for elasticity. Even though we love fabrics from 100% natural fibers, the elasticity in our alpaca knit is crucial for maintaining the sweaters shape even after years of wear.

From start to finish, our alpaca knit fabric maintains the highest levels of quality and non-toxicity, earning it OEKO-TEX certification.
