One of two textile prints in our latest collaboration with the estate of renowned architect and designer Alexander Girard, Broken Stripe (1952) embodies Girard’s graphic illustrative style and forward-thinking design inclinations. This print was originally developed by Girard during his tenure as the Head of Fabric and Textile Division at Herman Miller as upholstery fabric, and was offered in a variety of colorways.
To continue Girard’s emphasis of quality craftsmanship, we had Broken Stripemeticulously reengineered by one of our Italian partner mills on a summer-weight 100% cotton poplin. Each color was matched to their original Pantones and extra care was taken to ensure pigments hold fast and resist bleeding.
