Ahh yes, the enigmatic shadow plaid, a genre-bending style enjoyed by everyone from punk rockers to hermitic woodsmen. Defined by ombré gradients throughout the plaid, shadow plaids require carefully calculated weave structures to slowly transition from color to color. But despite being difficult to make, shadow plaids are decidedly more casual than their traditional tartan counterparts. Here, hues of electric blue subvert conventional color schemes, and a double brushing process increases the subtlety of its gradient by literally blending fibers together.

Weave manipulation is a theme across our fabrics, and this shadow plaid is a prime example. Here, six distinct dip-dyed yarns are used to slowly transition from deep blacks to pristine whites, with a medley of electric blues throughout. Yarns are added in a syncopated rhythm to create these transitions, while a triple brushing process further smoothes each gradient by blending fibers across each yarn. -
