Like many quintessentially GV shirts, our Hickory Stripe button-down straddles two stylistic histories. On one hand, sartorial details from throughout the lineage of menswear portray this style as rather handsome and mature. Its three-inch button-down collar is, after all, pure convention. On the other, its functional and highly durable fabric calls to mind the history of America’s working men who built railroads, smithed metals, and mined the hills. Just like standard denim, our Hickory Stripe Denim is woven from 100% cotton fibers and uses a twill weave to increase durability. With that said, this fabric’s navy and white striped motif, lighter hand, an looser weave distinguish this fabric into its own category. It’s more casual, pre-broken in, and will function far better on warmer days. For that reason, we consider this fabric perfect for all four seasons.
