Our second collaboration with our friends at Nicholas Daley arrives as part of Rebel Riot, their latest thematic collection. Taking inspiration from Bad Brains, the seminal Washington, D.C. punk band whose collision of hardcore, reggae, dub, jazz, and funk defied the boundaries of genre, Rebel Riot celebrates a similarly instinctive approach to creative expression. Our collaborative button-down brings that spirit to a familiar piece of Gitman shirting.

Beginning with our classic chambray, we added the custom-printed Rastafarian stripe that runs throughout the Rebel Riot collection, printed in-house at our newly established printing facility. A hand-cut and individually placed chest pocket plays with the rhythm of the stripe, while embroidered details, contrast buttonholes, and dress shirt buttons introduce further points of interruption to an otherwise familiar chambray shirt.

Through the lens of Rebel Riot, tradition becomes a starting point for experimentation rather than a boundary around it. The shirt remains distinctly Gitman at its core, but Nicholas Daley’s layered approach to music, culture, and design pushes the familiar into decidedly new territory.

Due to the complex production techniques used to create this shirt, this style is available in limited quantities.
