Arguably our softest style of the season, our Blue Brushed Mélange Plaid leverages a borderline-excessive four-step brushing process on both the face and inside of the fabric for a relentlessly soft hand. For those unfamiliar, brushing a fabric raises its surface fibers and creates a fuzzy, supple texture. With each round of brushing, the fabric becomes even softer, and this is the first time we’ve worked that’s been brushed more than three times. Accompanied by a mélange textured herringbone twill plaid, this style is perfectly suited for easy-wearing comfort. We’ve got a good feeling this will be your grab-and-go warm, cozy flannel throughout the colder months.

Woven at the same Japanese partner mill that produced many of our other seasonal fabrics, this fabric capitalizes on similarly complex weave techniques. To start, two kinds of heathered yarns are paired with solid black and solid white to create a mélange texture throughout. A herringbone twill weave further mixes each yarn across warp and weft directions and imbues the fabric with herringbone’s characteristic zig-zag. On top of it all, a quadruple brushing process continues to mix texture, adding fuzz and blur. -
