Cut from one of our new handwoven fabrics, this Organic Indigo Ikat Camp shirt represents a confluence of Southeast Asian textile techniques, Indian Madras, Japanese indigo dying, and American shirtmaking. Deep cultural references often inspire our approach to design, but rarely have we worked with a fabric that combines this many style genres and weave techniques into one.
And what’s a short sleeve doing in our autumn/winter collection? Well, some fabrics are simply destined to become short sleeve camp shirts, and this is one of them. Layer it up, or book a tropical winter vacation! It pairs well with a piña colada, so we'd suggest the latter.

Handwoven fabrics are a theme throughout our AW24 collection, and this is one of our favorite examples. But unlike the others, this is the only handwoven fabric we’ve sourced from Japan. With this distinction, it features some quintessentially Japanese qualities like slubbed threads and varying hues of indigo. But what you don’t see is the antique handloom that was used to create this fabric. In operation since the early 1900’s, this particular loom has seen millions of yards of textiles over its lifetime. How lucky we are to have received some of its fabric. -
