Colorful yet sophisticated, our Red Oxford is the latest addition to our Oxford Program. This style is cut from the same Portuguese-woven Cambridge Oxford cloth that's used for our classic white and blue Oxfords, and features the same durable yet supple hand that defines all Gitman Vintage Oxfords. Chili pepper red and snow white threads are combined in a 2-ply weave that creates and an understated soft red tone throughout. And although our Red Oxford received a fresh facelift for our SS25 collection, we first debuted this style in our Spring/Summer 1989 collection.

This shirt is cut and sewn from what many consider to be the best shirting fabric available: Cambridge Oxford Cloth. Distinguished from other Oxford cloths, our Cambridge Oxford is characterized by a 5oz, 40’s singles basketweave that strikes a balance between durability, softness, and pure class. Its gentle texture allows you to dress it up or down as you please, while a mid-weight hand makes Cambridge Oxford suitable for year-round wear. And because it softens with each wash, Cambridge Oxford only gets better with age. If we could only work with one fabric, this would be it.
Cambridge Oxford cloth was used for the very first shirt we made when our factory doors opened in 1978, and it continues to be our most popular fabric to this day.
