After nearly half a century of making shirts, we figured it was time to make something to wear over them. Meet the Sack Suit, our first-ever suit, and a distinctly GV approach to American tailoring.

Rooted in Northeastern Ivy style, the Sack Suit favors ease over excessive structure. An un-darted front allows the jacket to hang naturally from the chest, while soft shoulders, butterfly lining, and a traditional 3-roll-2 button stance create the relaxed silhouette that gives the style its name. Patch-and-flap pockets and a hooked center vent round out the jacket with a few more hallmarks of old-school American tailoring. 

Of course, any great suit demands equally great trousers. Ours feature a flat front and fuller, straight leg designed to complement the proportions up top. They feature button-fastening and a zip fly, slant pockets in the front, and button-closure pockets at the rear. Shipped un-hemmed, the trousers require a tailor to finalize your desired length and cuff style.

Both pieces are cut from Holland & Sherry's Crispaire, a UK-made superfine worsted Merino wool cloth that wears wonderfully year-round.

Like our Simple Jackets, our Sack Suit is made at our tailoring house in Rochester, NY. Founded in 1899, it remains the country's oldest, and continues to make each piece with proprietary tailoring techniques.
